Let me use three Marketing activities to explain this topics and they are;

GENERAL ADVERTISING: e. g. Bill boards, radio and TV, talk shows, hand bills, stickers, - this speaks to people en masse (i.e. as a group). It does not have the capacity or intention to isolate them as individuals. Neither is it requesting for paying customers immediate action...this is designed to make paying customers and important prospects have feelings and tendencies so that they will make a decision in your products and service favour at anytime, any day, anywhere. This gives them choice to decide, this is not a good measures for SME especially new entrepreneurs and people who need urgent sales increase.



SALES PROMOTION : e.g. Bulk SMS, E-Mail Blast, E-Mail Marketing - this is designed to achieve an immediate effect on sales just as Practical Marketing and Selling (PMS), it frequently generates lists of respondents to promotions. But! Because of the way it was designed, it has no capacity to unlocked the Need of Paying customers and important prospects and so, the message end up in their mails box.

PUBLIC RELATIONS: e.g. Social Media (B2B, B2C, FB, linkedin, Blog, twitter e.t.c); this can create database and as well will enable you to showcase your products to the rest of the world - but also lack the capacity to close paying customers and important prospects. Am sure you know that one thing is for paying customers and important prospects to see your products and read about your services and take his time to call you another thing is for you to know how to close them, because if you must continue to stay in that business you need to know how to close them and in the right way.
